MiniMax Code CLI Goes Open Source with 76.7% Task Pass Rate

Chinese AI company MiniMax announced that version v0.4.12 of MiniMax Code CLI is now available to developers worldwide, released as open source under the MIT license. The tool is a core component of the MiniMax Code client.

In evaluations based on FrontierHarness Eval, the tool achieved a 76.7% task pass rate, with a median completion time of 4 minutes and 33 seconds for successful tasks. Both metrics outperformed the public baselines listed in the report.

The company says the open-source release aims to let developers examine tool-calling and permission-handling mechanisms, build reliable enterprise-grade applications, and allow the community to find issues and contribute fixes, so security mechanisms can keep improving through real-world use and review.
