MiniMax opens up M3 model with strong performance

MiniMax has officially open-sourced its flagship multimodal model, MiniMax M3. This model has 428B total parameters and 23B active parameters, making it the first open-source model trained from scratch with multimodal mixing. It ranks highest among open-source models on the Artificial Analysis intelligence index. The model excels in coding and agent tasks, with capabilities for task decomposition, tool use, and multi-step reasoning. Its code output is designed to be production-ready. To handle high traffic, MiniMax has boosted output speed from about 30 TPS to 80 TPS, with plans for a further 30-40% increase.
