Mistral AI releases new model, says it beats Chinese rivals in cybersecurity

According to Reuters, Arthur Mensch, CEO of French AI startup Mistral AI, announced at the Ai Everything conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE, that the company would release a new AI model that day.

Mensch said the new model actually outperforms Chinese models in areas like cybersecurity, so the claim that "Europe cannot compete" is not true. He also noted there is strong demand for alternative technology providers.

Mistral AI is Europe's largest AI unicorn. Mensch did not specify which Chinese models were being compared, nor did he reveal strengths beyond cybersecurity.
