Moonshot AI Launches Kimi Code Desktop, Bringing AI Coding Agent to Desktop

Chinese AI company Moonshot AI has released Kimi Code Desktop, available for both macOS and Windows. Users can download it at kimi.com/code. As the official desktop client for Kimi Code, it brings AI-powered coding services from the command line to a graphical desktop environment.

Users can directly use the AI Agent through conversation to read and write code, run commands, and complete automated tasks. The visual interface lets users manage projects and track every step the Agent takes. Built-in terminal, browser, and Git status tools support project debugging, code review, and PR tracking.

Kimi Code Desktop offers multiple work modes: Plan mode for planning before execution, Goal mode for multi-round long tasks, and Swarm and experimental Tower modes for multi-Agent collaboration. It also supports screenshot annotation and browser element marking, helping developers communicate change requests to the Agent precisely.
