Moonshot AI releases open-source Kimi K2.7 Code for better coding
Moonshot AI has released and open-sourced Kimi K2.7 Code, a model focused on improving long-context coding tasks. It uses 30% fewer tokens on average than K2.6 and scored higher on multiple benchmarks.
K2.7 Code improved 21.8% on Kimi Code Bench v2 and 31.5% on MLS Bench Lite. It's available via the Kimi API for developers and businesses at the same price as K2.6: 6.5 yuan per million tokens for input, 27 yuan for output.
For non-coding tasks, K2.6 is still recommended. K2.7 Code works best with thinking mode on, which is default in the API. A faster version, about 5-6 times the speed, launches on June 15 at double the price.
