Morgan Stanley opens wealth platform to corporate AI agents
Morgan Stanley will soon let corporate clients' AI agents directly access its wealth management platform, bypassing traditional human interfaces. This is one of the first cases on Wall Street where a major bank opens its core system to external AI tools.
Mark Mitchell, the bank's chief product officer for workplace business, said clients won't need to log in manually anymore. AI programs will handle everything automatically. A few clients already have early access, and the bank plans to cover all 3,400 custodian clients by next year.
Morgan Stanley manages $1.2 trillion in assets. Meanwhile, competitors like JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs only use AI agents internally for coding tasks, without public plans to open their systems to external AI.
