Musk Says SpaceX AI Revenue Will Surpass All Other Business Next Month
Elon Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX, said in an internal speech that AI revenue might surpass all other SpaceX business revenue combined as early as next month, and will far exceed it in the fourth quarter. Earlier this year, SpaceX acquired xAI, the startup Musk founded in 2023, marking its official entry into AI. Musk predicts that in four or five years, AI will account for 99% of SpaceX's value, making the company worth an "astronomical number."
Musk revealed that SpaceX plans to boost its AI computing power to 10 gigawatts by the end of next year, up from the current 1.4 gigawatts. At $30 to $50 per watt, that could generate $300 to $500 billion in annual revenue. He emphasized that AI and robots are the future, and hopes the AI nurtured by SpaceX will care about humanity and promote civilization. Musk also promised that SpaceX employees will one day have the chance to travel to the Moon or Mars.
