NEC Creates All-AI Department to Explore Human-Machine Collaboration
NEC (Japan Electric) officially launched its 'Corporate AI and Workforce Division' in early August, where all employee roles are played by AI, aiming to test human-AI interaction. The division, which underwent a month of internal testing, has four levels: department head, committee, managers, and general staff. AI handles everything from task definition to execution and self-improvement, while humans oversee quality control. AI employees receive onboarding training on NEC's values and rules, and weekly suggestions are discussed in AI committee meetings. NEC says AI can continuously perform management analysis, simulation, and risk prediction, cutting core operation time to about 1/7, allowing humans to focus on higher-level tasks.
