Nicolas Cage Refuses AI Waiver, May Not Work with Amazon Again
Actor Nicolas Cage spoke out against AI at a panel at New York Comic Con. He just starred in the Amazon Prime Video show Spider-Noir.
Cage said Amazon is a huge AI supporter and is even investing up to 50 billion dollars in OpenAI. He did not sign the waiver that would allow AI use in Spider-Noir, so he may not work with that studio again, and he is fine with that.
Cage has spoken against AI acting since early 2025. He believes robots cannot reflect the human condition, and letting AI touch an actor's performance would trade honesty and artistic truth for money.
Spider-Noir premiered in May with 8 episodes and holds a 7.2 rating on Douban. According to Deadline, the show's second season has been cancelled.
