Nvidia and AMD execs back open-source AI, AMD's second-gen AI servers in production
As China's open-source AI models keep improving, the US tech industry is debating whether AI should be open. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the US shouldn't fear China's open-source models, but should worry about domestic calls to ban them. AMD CEO Lisa Su also backs open-source AI, saying it gives users transparency and control. She also announced AMD's second-gen AI servers are now in full production and expected to ship by the end of Q3. These are the first rack-scale AI systems capable of training and running large frontier models, with strong customer demand.
