NVIDIA and Unitree team up on new humanoid robot design
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced a partnership with Unitree Robotics to launch a new humanoid robot reference design called H2 Plus, set for release in the second half of this year. The design uses NVIDIA's high-performance computing platform to boost robot brainpower.
Unitree's marketing director Huang Jiawei said the H2 Plus focuses on improved computing power, and the team hopes the data will help future platform upgrades, pushing the whole humanoid robot industry forward. The design combines Unitree's H2 Plus robot, the Sharpa Wave dexterous hand, and NVIDIA's Jetson Thor computing platform to streamline development from startup to real-world testing.
NVIDIA's Isaac GR00T platform will also support Unitree's G1 robot, with tools expected on GitHub and Hugging Face soon, giving developers more options.
