NVIDIA CEO Says AI Safety Cooperation With China Is Necessary

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said in a CNBC interview that his company "absolutely needs" to work with Chinese AI companies to monitor the risks of this fast-moving technology. Huang believes AI can be dangerous. He said both sides should team up to develop AI in a safe way, and this should happen through dialogue. He added that he has been talking with Chinese researchers. AI safety has become a key topic between China and the US. US Treasury Secretary Bessent has proposed a bilateral AI safety risk alert system and communication channels to deal with risks like runaway AI agents, cyber threats and bio threats.
