NVIDIA Launches AI Video Detector with 92% Accuracy
NVIDIA has launched a new service called Synthetic Video Detector NIM that can analyze videos frame by frame to check if they were made by AI. It's designed for news outlets, journalists, and regular users to spot deepfakes.
In internal tests, the tool achieved up to 92% accuracy on uncompressed videos, 85% on videos with 15% compression, and 82% on 50% compression. It still works well even when video encoding and compression cause visual artifacts.
The detector can analyze a 1080P video in as fast as 22 milliseconds on RTX GPU systems, and about 30 milliseconds on enterprise data center GPU L40. This tech could help improve news verification and content safety.
