Nvidia launches AI video detector with 92% accuracy
Nvidia has launched a new service called Synthetic Video Detector (SVD) to identify AI-generated videos. It's now part of Nvidia's NIM service and checks videos frame by frame to tell if they're real or fake.
Technically, SVD splits videos into 504x504 pixel frames and processes them with Meta's DINOv2 and DINOv3 models. Each frame gets a score from 0 (real) to 1 (fake), and the average score determines the video's authenticity.
Performance-wise, SVD achieves 92% accuracy on uncompressed videos. Even with 15% compression, it hits 87%, and at 50% compression, it still maintains 82% accuracy. Processing speed is impressive too: analyzing a 1080p video takes just 22 milliseconds on an Nvidia RTX GPU.
