Nvidia, Microsoft and others launch open security AI alliance
Nvidia, Microsoft, Adobe, SpaceXAI, IBM and other companies have announced the formation of the Open Security AI Alliance. The group aims to build and share open-source tools for responsible AI use. It builds on the Linux Foundation's Akrites initiative and OpenSSF community work to fix and disclose security vulnerabilities using open-source tech.
The alliance says open-source software is key to the global economy, especially for cybersecurity. Open models and frameworks help spread defense capabilities, increase transparency, and offer customizable local controls that complement closed models.
Founding members include leaders in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise software, such as Cisco, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Databricks, Dell, Hugging Face, IBM, Microsoft, Nvidia, Red Hat, Salesforce, and Siemens. The mission is to give defenders everywhere trusted, open tools they can control.
