Nvidia's next AI rack system Kyber could be delayed to 2028
According to research firm SemiAnalysis, Nvidia's next-generation AI rack system Kyber could be delayed until 2028 due to manufacturing issues. The main problem is the difficulty of making the PCB midplane, a complex circuit board that connects all modules in the system.
The delay shows pressure on Nvidia's product line. The company has been releasing new AI products every year, but as systems get bigger and harder to make, this fast pace is hitting practical limits.
Nvidia tested a backup plan combining two existing systems but dropped it. Cloud providers and data centers found the design too weird and expensive to run.
