NVIDIA's robots learn to do research on their own all night
NVIDIA's GEAR lab leader Jim Fan showed a video of robots doing research on their own for the first time in the real world. They use a system called ENPIRE that turns robot learning into a controlled process. The team gave 8 smart agents robots, GPU power, and tokens, telling them to finish tasks fast and stay safe. The robots started finding visual hints, resetting scenes, learning new skills, reading papers online, debating, and trying again on hardware when stuck. With ENPIRE, robots can do precise jobs like tying cables, sorting nails, and plugging graphics cards into motherboards. Jim Fan says robots can improve all night while researchers just check reports in the morning. The tech will be open-sourced so anyone can run their own robot lab at home.
