Nvidia unveils Isaac GR00T humanoid robot design
Nvidia has introduced the Isaac GR00T humanoid robot reference design, the first open design built on Jetson Thor and the Isaac GR00T platform. It integrates the Unitree H2 Plus robot base with Sharpa Wave tactile five-finger hands to unify development and speed up skill training. The H2 base is about 1.8 meters tall, weighs 68 kg, and has 31 degrees of freedom. The hands add 22 more, for a total of 75. Sensors include a stereo head camera, wrist cameras, and an IMU for motion tracking. The onboard Jetson AGX Thor T5000 packs a Blackwell GPU with 2070 FP4 teraflops of AI power, a 14-core Arm CPU, and 128GB unified memory. It supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB, with mics and speakers for voice control. The 0.972 kWh battery lasts about 3 hours, and there's a remote emergency stop. The design is expected to launch from Unitree by the end of 2026. The Isaac GR00T platform will also support the Unitree G1 robot, with resources coming soon on GitHub and Hugging Face.
