OpenAI Adds Virtual Try-On and Save Features to ChatGPT

OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT's shopping features worldwide, adding virtual try-on for clothes and accessories, plus a save-for-later option. The new features are built on the recently launched ChatGPT Images 2.5 model, which creates images with more natural lighting, richer textures, and more stable editing, while also cutting image generation time.

Users can upload a selfie or full-body photo to see how a piece of clothing or an accessory looks on them. A try-on button now appears on shopping result pages. Users can also upload product images and ask ChatGPT to simulate the try-on effect. The save feature lets users store items in an in-app library for later viewing, with products saved alongside try-on images.

ChatGPT offers more shopping uses too. Users can describe a style they want to try, and ChatGPT will pick out the items needed to complete the look. They can also upload photos of celebrity outfits and ask ChatGPT to find purchasable items they are wearing.
