OpenAI Codex Adds Mobile Remote Control; Mac Users Can Manage Tasks Anytime, Anywhere

Need to handle work while away from your computer? OpenAI's Codex now supports mobile remote control. Users just need to upgrade their mobile ChatGPT to the latest version to remotely manage Codex on Mac.

The setup is simple: Codex on Mac generates a QR code, which you scan with the mobile ChatGPT app to pair. Once paired, users can view Codex's real-time status on their phones, including conversation threads, approval requests, plugins, and project context.

OpenAI emphasizes this is not just remote task assignment but a complete mobile work experience. Users can handle all conversations, review outputs, approve commands, even switch models or start new tasks on their phones. Currently, this feature only supports Codex for Mac; the Windows version will be launched later.
