OpenAI launches Sign in with ChatGPT, first partners include Notion and GitLab
OpenAI introduced "Sign in with ChatGPT" at its 2026 Developer Day event, letting users log into external apps directly with their ChatGPT account to simplify cross-platform authentication. The feature is now available globally to all verified ChatGPT users.
Users can choose "Sign in with ChatGPT" when connecting apps on partner websites or in the ChatGPT plugin directory. The first partners include Airtable, GitLab, HubSpot, Notion, Supabase, and Vercel.
OpenAI stresses that external apps only receive the user's name, email address, and profile picture if available. Chat history, memories, files, tokens, and billing information are not shared. For enterprise users, availability depends on admin settings, and organizations without an explicit identity policy will have it enabled by default.
