OpenAI Opens ChatGPT for Word to All Users

OpenAI has opened the ChatGPT for Microsoft Word add-in to all ChatGPT users, including those on the free plan. After installing it, users can access ChatGPT from a sidebar in Word. The add-in can read the open document as context and help generate drafts, summarize documents, rewrite selected text, proofread content, and adjust headings and formatting. OpenAI is also running a limited-time promotion: ChatGPT Business and Enterprise customers can use the GPT-5.6 Sol model in Word for free from September 17 to September 30, and usage during the preview will not count toward their normal limits.
