OpenClaw Integrates Codex Native Protocol, Will Support Anthropic's Future Protocol
Onur Solmaz, maintainer of OpenClaw, recently announced that the tool will support both the ACP protocol and OpenAI's Codex App Server protocol. It will also integrate Anthropic's protocol if developed.
Currently, users can call programming agents like Codex and Claude Code via ACP in Discord or Telegram to complete tasks. With the new Codex native protocol, users get Codex Desktop-like features such as task planning and answer revision.
ACP is an open standard adopted by JetBrains and others, while Codex App Server is a session protocol designed by OpenAI for Codex. OpenClaw is gradually becoming a multi-protocol unified layer.
