Oracle Accelerates Security Patch Releases with AI, Adds Targeted Critical Updates
Oracle has long used a quarterly release model for security updates. Now, AI technology has greatly improved vulnerability detection and repair processes, so the company plans to speed up the release of security patches.
The company has adopted AI solutions like Anthropic Claude Mythos Preview and OpenAI Trusted Access for Cyber for vulnerability mining and security analysis. It will additionally release "Critical Security Patch Update (CSPU)" between quarterly updates—these updates are smaller, more targeted, focusing on fixing high-risk vulnerabilities.
The first CSPU is expected to launch on May 28, with subsequent releases on June 16, August 18, and September 15.
