Qwen3.6-Plus Officially Launched: 1M Context Window, Compatible with Claude Code and OpenClaw

Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen team released Qwen3.6-Plus, the new flagship model after the Qwen3.5 series. Its API is now available via Alibaba Cloud Bailian. Core upgrades focus on Agent programming capabilities, enhanced multi-modal perception and reasoning, with default support for a 1M token context window.

In programming, the model excels in code repair, terminal operations, and other benchmarks. Front-end development capabilities are improved, handling 3D scenes and game projects. For multi-modal tasks, it performs better in complex document understanding, video reasoning, and supports generating code from screenshots and restoring front-end pages from design drafts.

The API adds a preserve_thinking parameter to boost decision consistency for Agent tasks and reduce token consumption. Alibaba Cloud Bailian supports OpenAI and Anthropic protocols (directly accessing Claude Code), as well as programming tools like OpenClaw. Qwen Code offers 1000 free daily calls with OAuth login.

The team will focus on the full release of the Qwen3.6 series soon, with smaller open-source models coming later.
