Sakana AI launches Fugu, a model orchestration system

Japanese AI startup Sakana AI has launched Sakana Fugu, a multi-agent orchestration system. It's a language model that can smartly call on the best model for each task, including itself, all through a single API.

Sakana AI says model orchestration is the next big thing in AI, helping users avoid relying on just one provider. If one model goes down, it won't break your workflow.

They offer two versions: Fugu for balanced tasks and Fugu Ultra for complex problems. Sakana AI claims Fugu Ultra matches or beats Anthropic Fable 5 / Mythos Preview on some engineering, science, and reasoning tests.
