Samsung aims to launch LPDDR5X-PIM memory chip by 2026
A South Korean report says Samsung plans to officially launch its in-memory computing product LPDDR5X-PIM in August 2026, and will reveal its hardware specs and commercialization roadmap. The chip integrates computing units directly into the DRAM die, which reduces the need to shuttle data back and forth, solving the memory bottleneck and saving energy.
Built on LPDDR5X technology, this product targets edge and on-device applications. South Korean AI chip company DeepX plans to pair its 2nm chip DX-M2 with LPDDR5X-PIM.
