Samsung rolls out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex globally

OpenAI announced on June 21 that Samsung is rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to its employees worldwide, marking its largest enterprise deployment yet. The tools will be available to all Samsung staff and its global Device Experience division.

Samsung plans to use ChatGPT and Codex across software development, marketing, product development, and manufacturing to boost productivity and problem-solving. ChatGPT Enterprise offers data protection and security controls, while Codex helps with coding and even lets non-tech teams build internal tools and automations.

Since February 1, 2026, weekly active users of Codex in South Korea have surged nearly 800%. OpenAI and Samsung had previously partnered on AI infrastructure, including memory chips. Seoul National University is also offering ChatGPT Edu for free to its 47,000 members, and OpenAI collaborated with Kakao to integrate ChatGPT into KakaoTalk group chats.
