Samsung's HBM4 yield nears 80%, speeding up production
According to Korean media, Samsung Electronics has achieved a yield of nearly 80% for HBM4 memory, close to its target set for the end of 2026. This high yield has accelerated its production ramp-up. When initial mass production began in February this year, the yield was only about 60%, which was not enough for large-scale commercialization and limited wafer input. As the yield improves, Samsung plans to more than triple HBM4 sales this quarter compared to last quarter, and aims for HBM to account for over 60% of its total HBM revenue in the second half of the year, eventually reaching a market share similar to its overall DRAM share by year-end.
