Shanghai Institute unveils 11B-parameter AI model for science

The Shanghai Institute for AI for Science has launched 'Monkey King Bang' (MKB), an 11-billion-parameter multimodal model for scientific research. It handles six types of scientific data including DNA, RNA, proteins, small molecules, weather, and medical images, all in one system. The model keeps the unique structure of each data type, showing strong results in biology, weather forecasting, and medical imaging tasks. Scientists can download the model and code from Hugging Face and GitHub for free.
