Sierra Teams Up with Meta and Shopify to Launch Personal Agent Protocol
As AI agents play a bigger role in shopping and business services, there have been no shared rules for how they connect with company systems. Access control and data safety have become a growing concern.
AI company Sierra announced it has launched the Personal Agent Protocol (PAP) with Meta and industry partners including Shopify, Stripe, Walmart, Genesys, Instinct, and Rocket. The protocol sets clear rules for how personal agents interact with business services.
PAP is built on trusted standards like OAuth. The idea is simple: users decide what access their personal agents get, while companies set the limits on what these agents can do.
The protocol aims to create a safer and smoother space for agents to work in, protecting consumers while giving brands better visibility and control.
