Soul upgrades AI rules, clarifies AI virtual characters
Social platform Soul announced upgrades to its AI governance, combining AI risk control with user co-governance to improve community safety. The platform already offers clearly labeled AI virtual characters in some scenarios, positioned as emotional support and interactive experiences, not real users.
Soul added rules in its community guidelines to clarify the boundaries of AI virtual characters and remind users to distinguish them from real people. When users interact with AI characters for a long time, the system will send reminders to encourage reasonable usage.
The platform also introduced a co-governance system including user feedback, risk reporting, community patrols, and guardians. AI boosts risk detection efficiency, and users can report AI issues to help improve the platform.
