SpaceXAI launches Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0, voice AI model gets big upgrade

SpaceXAI launched Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0, a voice AI model focused on speech reasoning and transcription. It costs $0.08 per minute of audio and will be upgraded from version 1.0 to 2.0 on August 5.

The new model scored 82.9% on the speech-to-speech quality index, up 7.2 points from the previous version. SpaceXAI says it can reason while talking, reducing delays, and tool calls often complete before the agent finishes its first sentence.

In internal tests, Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 performed 1.5 to 2 times better than Deepgram Nova 3 and ElevenLabs Scribe v2 in transcription, and 1.4 times better than version 1.0. In noisy or compressed phone scenarios, its gap with dedicated speech-to-text models can widen to about 10 times.
