StepFun launches AI agent smartphone STEPX Neo
StepFun has launched its first AI agent phone, the STEPX Neo. It runs on a Snapdragon 8 series chip with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The full package includes the phone, the StepAOS system and Step AI models, priced at 3,999 yuan. Pre-orders are open and sales start on October 16.
The phone has a retro-future design. Six microphones and a low-power audio chip help it catch your voice even in noisy places. That chip runs on its own and uses just 1.2% battery in 24 hours. The rear screen also shows its own agent-style expressions.
The Step AOS system is built for AI agents from day one, with memory, task planning and safety built in. The Step 5 Preview model now works with Tencent's WorkBuddy and can do research, data analysis and slides on its own. StepFun's Amoo agent has also teamed up with nearly 100 companies, including Alipay and Meituan.
