StepFun's Step 5 Preview Model Lands on Tencent WorkBuddy with Free Access

StepFun announced that its Step 5 Preview model is now live on Tencent's WorkBuddy platform. It will be available for free, exclusively on WorkBuddy, from October 12 to October 25.

Launched on September 20, the flagship model targets AI coding, software engineering, professional knowledge work, and finance. It focuses on improving performance in real-world Agentic tasks. Its full weights were open-sourced on October 15.

Technically, Step 5 Preview uses a sparse MoE (Mixture of Experts) architecture with 600B total parameters and 27B activated parameters. It supports a 1 million token context window and natively handles both text and visual input.
