Suno Studio 2.0 Adds MIDI Support and AI Chat Integration
On August 14, local time in the U.S., AI music company Suno launched Studio 2.0, moving closer to a professional digital audio workstation (DAW). The biggest update is MIDI support, letting users feed MIDI data as prompts—like playing chords for AI to generate audio or continue melodies. Suno says MIDI was the most requested feature and is essential for modern DAWs.
Studio 2.0 also brings DAW-style automation, letting users tweak track pan and volume, plus built-in effects like distortion, delay, reverb, and EQ. A chat bot is now integrated into the Studio, reading the current project to auto-apply reverb, compression, or even create custom effects. In the demo, Suno's Henry Fipps admitted that many tasks can be handed off to AI.
