Tencent Cloud launches CodeBuddy NPC, an AI agent that handles dev tasks on its own

Tencent Cloud has launched CodeBuddy NPC, an AI agent that can plan, code, submit PRs, and run tests on its own. Developers just give it a task, and it keeps working until the result is ready. It uses the Tencent Cloud CNB platform to read code repos, issues, and PRs, so there's no need to copy-paste requirements back and forth.

NPC has "dev memory" — you can @ it in an Issue, and it automatically understands the task, project, and changes. The first-round token usage dropped from over 20,000 to about 2,000, a 90% reduction. Companies can also form NPC Teams to handle complex projects, like building a game from scratch with zero human help.
