Tencent Extends Free Access to Hy3 Model in CodeBuddy and WorkBuddy Until August 2026

Tencent's AI coding assistant CodeBuddy and office assistant WorkBuddy announced today that free access to the Hy3 model will be extended until August 31, 2026. This is the second extension, following a previous one in July that set the deadline for August 5.

The Hy3 model, released and open-sourced on July 6, is a large language model combining fast and slow thinking. It uses a MoE architecture with 295B total parameters, 21B activated parameters, and supports up to 256K context length. The company clarified that Hy3 does not have multimodal capabilities; if users request video or image generation, the system will switch to a multimodal model, incurring normal usage costs.

Due to overwhelming demand, daily free quotas are allocated to ensure smooth usage. When resources are busy, users may be queued, and the page will indicate when the quota resets.
