Tencent gives teachers in China a free AI teaching helper

Tencent's SSV unit has launched the WorkBuddy education charity edition for teachers across China. Teachers can claim 2,000 points each month for 12 months, with no limits on region or school level.

It is an AI teaching assistant built for teachers. Working with Peking University, Beijing Normal University and other universities, the team turned research on lesson design, courseware, tiered teaching and student psychology into more than 100 education experts that teachers can use directly.

Five tools are now live: creative teaching, script classroom, courseware making, animation demos and material editing. Teachers just describe what they need in plain words. The tool will later connect with Tencent Docs and other services for daily teaching work.

Individual teachers can apply through the "Tencent SSV" WeChat account. After a review, accounts open within 3 working days. Points refill on the 1st of each month, and a free model stays available when points run out.
