Tencent's WorkBuddy AI joins Guangdong's government system to speed up paperwork and policy searches
Tencent's AI assistant WorkBuddy is launching in Guangdong's government system. On June 16, the first provincial-level AI platform "Wanqing" went live in Guangdong, with WorkBuddy customized for government tasks. It will soon be available to all public servants in the province.
WorkBuddy handles six key tasks: helping draft documents, checking materials for errors, searching policies quickly, answering citizen and staff questions, supporting cross-department collaboration, and managing task assignments. These features aim to make government work faster and more efficient.
The pilot program is already running in several provincial units and will expand across Guangdong. The "Wanqing" platform now covers over 100 government scenarios, works with more than ten major AI models, and includes token-level security to ensure safe usage.
