Tencent WorkBuddy Updates Rapidly to Support WeChat Direct Connection; Dev Team Works Overtime at Midnight

Tencent WorkBuddy (nicknamed Lobster) launched on March 9 and received an update just three days later, adding WeChat direct connection. Users can integrate WeChat in three steps: open Claw settings → configure WeChat customer service account → scan QR code to connect, enabling remote control of office computers to perform tasks like searching information and writing copy.

The update also supports enterprise WeChat WebSocket long connections for more stable links and automatic reconnection if disconnected. Additionally, WorkBuddy now has background automated tasks, which can generate daily/weekly reports, capture competitor info, organize meeting minutes, etc., with one-time setup for continuous operation. Tencent PR director Zhang Jun revealed that the dev team worked overtime until midnight recently to iterate features quickly.
