Tencent Yuanbao to Launch Standalone AI Agent App

Tencent Yuanbao is developing a Personal Agent product called "Yuanbao Assistant" and plans to launch a standalone app. It will run separately from the main Yuanbao app, handling long-term tasks and personal long-term memory. Several Tencent teams, including social, are also working on similar features.

Yuanbao is a consumer AI assistant built on Tencent's in-house Hunyuan large model, launched in May 2024. It supports voice and text search, reads many file formats, and can write reports, plans, copy, and code.

Chinese tech companies are moving fast on personal assistants. Doubao is working on its own assistant called "Xiaodou", which will also come as a standalone app. Led by Doubao's phone assistant team, it is still in internal testing.
