Tesla China confirms integrating Doubao AI for in-car voice upgrades

At ByteDance's Volcanic Engine conference, Tesla China confirmed that its in-car system will integrate the Doubao AI model, marking a step forward for localized voice interactions. Tesla owners in mainland China will soon be able to use "Hey, Tesla" or the steering wheel button to activate Doubao for vehicle control and smart commands.

The beta software version 2026.14.11 already includes a Doubao AI assistant entry. Going forward, Doubao will handle tasks like adjusting AC, windows, and navigation, while DeepSeek will manage casual chats, offering an experience similar to Grok with FSD integration. Tesla's official terms had earlier mentioned Doubao and DeepSeek, and now the launch timeline is confirmed.
