Top 9 cloud giants to spend $886.7B this year on AI infrastructure
According to market research firm TrendForce, the world's top nine cloud service providers are expected to spend over $886.7 billion this year on capital expenditures, up 90% year-over-year, mainly for building computing infrastructure to meet the growing demand for AI.
These nine companies include Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Oracle from the US, as well as Alibaba, Baidu, ByteDance, and Tencent from China. TrendForce predicts this spending will grow another 49% to $1.32 trillion by 2027.
The increase is driven by stronger demand from US cloud giants for NVIDIA's rack-scale solutions, upcoming volume shipments of new AI chips from Google and Amazon AWS in the second half of the year, and Chinese companies expanding use of local chips. As a result, TrendForce has raised its 2026 AI server shipment growth forecast from 28% to 31%.
