Ubtech's humanoid robot gets 3000 pre-orders in 8 days

Ubtech's brand UWorld started taking pre-orders for its full-size humanoid robot on June 2. In just 8 days, it got over 3,000 orders. The robot is designed for emotional companionship, with memory storage and customizable looks, for adults only.

The male version is 183cm tall and weighs 42kg, while the female version is 168cm and 35.2kg. Both have 88 degrees of freedom, 2-4 hours battery life, and no support for further development. You need to pay a 3,000 yuan deposit to secure a spot. The final price is not out yet, but it's expected to be around 300,000 yuan.

The official launch is set for June 30. The strong pre-order numbers show people are really interested in lifelike companion robots, but the high price and limited features might affect sales later.
