US Youth Trust in AI Drops, Most Distrust Tech Leaders
A survey by CNBC and Generation Labs shows that young Americans aged 18-34 are losing trust in AI. Out of 1,088 respondents, 45% think AI will hurt their careers, while only 10% see it as helpful. This distrust extends to tech leaders like Musk, Altman, and Zuckerberg, who all lack majority trust.
None of the 9 influential AI figures got positive ratings. Palantir CEO Alex Karp had the highest distrust at 81%, while Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was the least distrusted but still at 65%. Also, 40% support federal regulation of AI, and 60% think data center construction should slow down.
