Volcano Engine launches Doubao Search for AI agents

Volcano Engine launched Doubao Search, a web search tool for companies and developers. It mixes internet info, industry knowledge, and ByteDance's exclusive content to make AI agents smarter and more efficient.

The tool is upgraded for real-world agent tasks. It outputs info agents can use directly and supports various search modes. It understands natural language, adjusts search strategies automatically, and fills info gaps. To fight low-quality content, it ranks sources by site and creator authority, filtering junk from the start.

Doubao Search scored well in benchmarks like SimpleQA and FreshQA, boosting fact-finding and complex searches. It's already used in Q&A, office work, and finance. Nine out of ten top Chinese phone makers use it for their smart assistants. Companies can access it via API or MCP, with 500 free searches per month.
