Volcano Engine Launches Seedance 2.5 API Draft Mode, Cutting Video Generation Costs by Up to 77%
Volcano Engine announced that the Seedance 2.5 API now offers a Draft mode. Companies and creators can first generate samples in 480P to test ideas at low cost, then produce the final version in 1080P once they pick the shots they like. The company says the final output closely matches the sample and delivers native 1080P quality.
For a 5-second shot, if a creator tries four times to get a satisfying clip, Draft mode can cut costs by 57% and nearly double generation speed. When it takes 20 tries to get one good result, savings can reach 77%. The harder the shot and the more attempts needed, the more the mode saves.
Enterprise users can enable Draft mode by setting the draft parameter to true when creating a video generation task via the API. Consumer creators can try it in Jimeng by selecting "Seedance 2.5 (Draft Mode)" as the model.
