WeRide starts testing L2++ driving tech in Germany, France, Japan
WeRide announced its L2++ smart driving system is now being tested on roads in Germany, France, and Japan. The system uses its own end-to-end AI core technology and Bosch's car-grade control platform. In China, the system helped Chery Exeed ES&ET models win six consecutive national smart driving competitions. WeRide has secured orders for over 30 production models from clients like Chery and GAC. Founded in 2017, WeRide is the only company with autonomous driving licenses from eight countries including China, UAE, Singapore, and France. Earlier this month, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a mandatory national safety standard for L2-level assisted driving, co-drafted by Huawei, Xiaomi, BYD, and Tesla, set to take effect in 2027.
