Wistron opens US factory to make NVIDIA's AI super chips
Wistron opened its first US factory in Fort Worth, Texas, investing $700 million. The 30101-square-meter facility will produce NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin Superchips, creating over 500 jobs with plans to reach 1000 by year-end.
NVIDIA has committed to manufacturing $500 billion worth of AI platforms in the US. Wistron used NVIDIA's open platforms to build a digital twin and simulate the entire factory before construction. Jensen Huang called the GB300 Superchip system "the world's most powerful AI supercomputer," with 1.5 million parts, 2 tons weight, and a $4 million cost.
